UConn GHG Emissions Inventory
Using the Campus Carbon Calculator software produced by Clean Air-Cool Planet (CA-CP), greenhouse gas inventories for 2004-2006 have been conducted for the UConn Storrs campus. The goal of the inventories is to assess and identify major sources of emissions on campus, to identify actions that can be taken to reduce such emissions, and to monitor our progress on an annual basis. The 2007 inventory is currently being completed as part of the University's long-term emissions reductions commitment, as outlined by the American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment (PCC).

UConn students travelled to Washington, DC for PowerShift.
The inventory process takes several months. Inventory data is collected beginning in the spring of the following year by student interns working in the UConn Office of Environmental Policy. For the next several months, students work closely with university staff to identify data needs and sources. During the fall, the inventory is finalized and presented to the Climate Action Task Force. As part of the PCC, all future inventories will be posted for public viewing.
